If you're like me when it comes to text editors, you can't imagine life without vim. VI has always been a work of genius, in my opinion, and vim has only improved upon that genius. I love it. I'll never leave you, vim, I promise.
So when a new editor comes along that offers some pretty rad features, like Textmate and its snippets functionality, it can be pretty frustrating. Thankfully, my friend Jeff Rose has come up with some really useful snippets for ruby programmers who can't live without vim. Rumor has it that this may soon be part of the vim-ruby package.
Thanks Jeff!
December 19th, 2005 at 06:33 AM why is a large picture of my eyeball one of those on your website? in what context did we take that picture? it's weird to log on and see my own eyeball staring back at me. this has nothing to do with vim or ruby on rails since i know what neither is.
December 21st, 2005 at 02:58 AM Bis, that was at our rehearsal dinner when you and Doug were messing around with our new camera. I was so excited that there was a comment that I could understand to a post I could not!
December 21st, 2005 at 11:33 PM Aha! I have vague memories of that. I guess that neither you or I are like Doug, in that we "can imagine life without vim." Hurry up and come over because we miss you already! We're really excited that you are coming tomorrow! By the way Elly, I check your blog a lot too but I haven't ever posted anything on it because I haven't figured out how. Doug will probably want to hit me for my feigned helplessness but it's true.
