I went running this afternoon and discovered a really sweet ridge trail that parallels US 36 for a couple of miles right at the north end of town. My friend Bob and I were trying to follow the "Hogback Ridge" trail pictured on this map, but apparently we turned north too early on a trail that is not marked on the map. This trail runs all the way up to some barbed-wire-no-trespassing-or-you-will-die fence, and then it just stops. Anyway, it is a really quiet trail (with the exception of car noise), and it is really quite flat once you get up on the ridge. If Flatirons Vista is my favorite south Boulder trail, then I think this one is my favorite north Boulder trail.
Judging from the clouds and wind that I see out the window right now, I think we probably finished the run just in the nick of time.
September 29th, 2005 at 09:40 AM so this new run is 27, 28 miles then? jk. i have not too many choices for runs... basically it is "should i run to the left, or to the right?" the left always wins.
October 3rd, 2005 at 10:29 AM remember when i was all "hey doug!!! i ran my fastest ever!!! i ran the furthest ive ever run!!!" yea. good times. i dont think ive run since then :( i suck.
October 6th, 2005 at 01:52 AM Yeah, running isn't my thing. I ran high-school track, then in college when I played volleyball. Those mad sprints to the half court line were brutal. So everytime I run I spend most of my time over a garbage can puking my brains out. The tilt-a-whirl at the county far does that to me too as the gravitron. Those crazy rides. Anyway I hopped on my bike today. The temperature was 80 yesterday and 40 today. craziness. I was pretty numb by the time I got to work.
