It's been over two years since I started my blog. I think I did one re-design in that entire time, so it was time to make some updates. I'm a little sad to say that one of those updates was laying my old blogging engine to rest. That poor little thing, originally written in like Rails version -0.1, served me faithfully the whole entire time I've been blogging. So, as you can tell by my footer, I've switched to Mephisto, and so far I'm enjoying it. I hope having a better publishing system will encourage me to write more. Oh, and comments are back on, so please troll away!
I snuck out this afternoon and got to the Big Thompson in time for the afternoon baetis hatch.
I stalked this guy for about an hour and a half. Actually, I harrassed him with a rainbow warrior, blue-winged olive, and finally a brooks sprout emerger (I think that's what it's called). It's the one that looks like a regular CDC baetis emerger, but the top is made of foam. I couldn't get a good presentation, so I relied on the odds of just slapping it in his face thousands of times until he gave up and struck it. It was a good time.
