My friend Andy is going back to school this semester to officially get his B.S. in computer science. Andy is one of the funniest people I know. He could find humor in almost any situation, no matter how boring it seems, as this excerpt from an email he sent me about his recent C++ programming assignment illustrates:
Hi Doug - I'm more than doubling my C++ portfolio of programs this week:
1: A hardware store charges 4 cents for nuts and 6 cents for bolts. Write a C++ program that asks the user for the number of bolts and number of nuts in their purchase and then calculates and prints out the total cost.
I'm guessing your uncle could be my first customer for this program. Also, this program is just begging me to use a variable called "numNuts". :-)
